That's it - I'm moving to Peru

Apparently in Peru it's now perfectly all right to show up for work drunk. Finally I'll have an excuse for doing it that's grounded in solid legal precedent.

You've got to be kidding me

A cease-fire is in the works over in Gaza that would be renewable for up to year, would have Israeli forces out of Gaza inside of a week, and have border crossings that would open immediately and remain open. The problems with this as I see them:

• Israel gives up all they've gained military when over the next year Hamas is given a chance to rearm, recruit, and then redeploy
• Wide open border crossings on the Egyptian side makes it impossible for Israel to stem the potential flow of jihadist reinforcements and on the Israeli side makes it much more difficult to stop disguised suicide bombers.

So, with the theoretical support of the "International Community", the U.N. is attempting to stop Israel from defeating their enemies outright - again. I think it's apparent to everyone that's watching that Israel can take on Hamas, Hezbollah, and the PLO and absolutely crush them at any time they want. My question is what are they waiting for?

Well in this case it was our allies the Turks seizing a shipment going from Iran to Venezuela via Turkey labled "Tractor Parts". In reality, it was enough equipment to set up an explosives lab. Once the Turkish military makes a determination as to what the actual capability of the equipments is it may or may not be sent on to it's destination. Either way, now that we know about it the jig is up. Iran and Venezuela are getting awfully cozy. We should be wary.


Send these people home

This is a good start. She demeans every service person that has been deployed to Iraq that has a child. Sent the rest of them home too while you're at it.

Random observations:

I got a chance to see the commisioning of the USS George H.W. Bush on TV today. It was a beautiful and inspiring ceremony. I wish the ship and her crew all the best.

The Big 12 can just STFU about being the best conference in the country after going 0-4 in the major sports against the SEC last week.
