All sorts of little tidbits

Once their usefulness came to end the Democrats (with some GOP prodding) voted to strip ACORN of their Federal funding. It was a pretty easy decision since the group was proved to be corrupt bunch of buffoons over the last ten days or so. Here's the link on how they voted. This was a good bit of politicking by the Republicans (as opposed to some of their recent stupidity) as it now gives them a little ammo agianst the 75 Democrats that voted no. The article does point one thing out and IMHO this is the more important issue - it still has to cross Obama's desk. The Republicans have got him on this one. If he doesn't sign the funding cutoff into law then he's viewed as ACORN's tool and an already enraged and mobilized Right will just get more amped up. If he does cut them off he damages his relationship with a major organization that is responsible for his success in the 2008 general election and the unions which support ACORN.

India also claims that the recent reports of a Chinese incursion and a cross-border shooting incident are false.

Venezuela seems to be stocking up on guns instead of butter.

This is scary.

It all makes sense

It all makes sense now. Obama has to go to Cincinnati to a big union Labor Day event to rally the troops behind his proposed healthcare legislation. The unions have wrecked the major manufacturers (and are starting in on the service industries) with excessive and unreasonable demands and now understand that without some sort of government run healthcare their current way of existence is at an end. The government bailout of the manufacturing sector was a payoff to the unions and a time-buying procedure to slow the unions' death spiral until the Democrats could step in and save their giant reliable voting bloc with health care. It always comes back to vote-buying with these people. The sticky wicket for the Democrats in all of this is that the Unions are already threatening the Democrats with less support in the future if the healthcare plan doesn't include a government-run option and the Democrats are smart enough to know that if they push a healthcare plan with a government option through strictly on Party lines then they know they'll take a beating in November, 2010. I think we're about to see who's the bigger tool.

Of Course They Do

Of course Russia denies that the Arctic Sea carried a load of weapons. If it wasn't weapons then what exactly was it carrying? Hmmmm.

OMFG.

What is it with these people? I don't need my little girl worrying how she can help the President of the United States. I need her to be learning something useful, like mathematics and spelling. I don't need my little girl being forced to write something to herself and then be held accountable for what she says.
