We're still here.
The good folks over at CERN fired the LHC back up today. I can state with some confidence that the fact that you're reading this probably means that the Earth wasn't sucked into a black hold and all of us turned inside-out.

This is truly scary
Apparently the U.N. is attempting to set up a 'government' that would have the power to intrude into the internal affairs of the countries that sign on to the Copenhagen Treaty (Another pile of climate change shit.) I haven't had a chance to go look at the YouTube video the article references but being this close to Halloween I probably should since this is the time for scary things. When will these people get the picture that the star that we orbit has more to do with the climate than anything that we'll ever do short of nuclear war? We're at a sunspot minimum right now and we haven't actually had this few sunspots in consecutive years since a period called the 'Maunder Minimum' back in the 1600's which oddly enough coincided with a period called the "Little Ice Age". Just remember folks, climate change and climate change legislation has exactly nothing to do with changing the climate of this planet. It is simply a forced wealth redistribution program set up by a bunch of rich White Liberals that have already "got theirs" and feel so guilty about their own success that they've decided to take it out on the rest of us.
Also scary in a "What's the world coming to?" sorta way - Wal-Mart has begun selling caskets.
It's not all bad news though: Feds 1, U.S. Based Islamic Terrorists 0.

Successful Test Launch
NASA was able to launch the Aries X-1 today. It looks like it all worked the way that it was supposed to. It'll be interesting to see over the next few weeks what type of data they got out of it. It'll be even more interesting to see if the Obama administration scuttles the program.
In other news, the FAA has revoked the two pilots' licenses that overshot their intended destination last week by about 150 miles as they were apparently to busy playing Team Fortress on their laptops instead of, you know, landing the frakking aircraft. Good grief.

A small milestone here at Hold'er Newt! I'm going to try to ramp up my posts.
Not as impressive as a Space Shuttle but if this is what we're going with I'll support it. Here's hoping it all works out the way its supposed to.
The Obama administration doesn't even care what they say any more. I know this administration hack was just referring to the campaign but it doesn't appear to have stopped. I'm not shocked that they did it I'm just shocked that they were dumb enough to admit it. It's going to be interesting to see the fallout from this because there are still a few in the media, despite their socialist tendencies, that don't like being led around by the nose. Somebody will make the connection. They're not all idiots. Another thing: anybody ever notice that when these guys get out of the country they say some of the dumbest shit? It's like they forget about the Internet.
Wow. Democrats better listen to this guy.
Look! Both Democrats showed up at a Kentucky Democratic Party rally in Lexington. Yes, that is Wesley Clark imploring that the crowd embrace Obama and his , tactics, er, rhetoric, er, policies, yeah, that' s the word I was looking for - policies.

In other extremely important news - Kentucky 21, Auburn 14. In even more important news, we're just under a month until college basketball starts. I love this time of year.
Also, I may have to get one of these bumper stickers:

What the hell?
Was just flipping channels and stumbled across a religious music program on BET. Above the stage where the performers were singing is a gigantic stained glass picture of President Obama. What the hell? That is some 'Cult of Personality' bullshit right there. Anybody that refuses to see that they are drawing a direct comparison between Christ and Obama is deluding themselves. I believe that the show was "Bobby Jones Gospel".
Also, glad to see that Chicago failed to get the Olympics in 2016. Frankly, they couldn't afford it. However, tt couldn't have happened to a nicer mayor after the shit he pulled at Meigs Field .
Karma's a bitch, ain't it?
