Apparently not all the parties in the "worker's paradise" like each other. Don't really have a comment on this other than the questions it brings about Socialist/Communist solidarity in the world. If these two can have a falling out it makes you wonder if Chavez is simply tolerated by the other socialist states in South America but privately despised.

This absolutely adds weight to the idea that China is rapidly building up to something big in the south Pacific. They're buying access to every type of raw material that they can get their hands on, but now the Vietnamese realize what's happening and are having second thoughts. Hey, if you're a commie in charge of a whole nation, would you want some foreigner (even if it's a commie foreigner?) coming in and taking over? Probably not. Even communists have an independent streak. Anyhoo, this is VERY interesting. A 50% increase in defense spending by Vietnam should have the DoD quietly scrambling to figure out what the heck is going on.
It's a puzzle isn't it?
