Holy God.

On December 17th, 2009 a major, major blow against civil liberties was struck with a simple penstroke. Executive Order 12425 was amended. Here is the text as issued by the White House. Here is President Reagan's original. The big one is wiping out Section 2(c) which excludes International Organizations from being searched and that their archives are not accessible either. That means no Open Records requests to them.

I am just flabbergasted.I don't even know what to say about this. This is one step away from having a group of people running around whose job it is to say "Papers, please." They've allowed an International organization free run of the country without even the most basic of oversight - financial or otherwise since the other sections pretain to taxes and employment regulations.
